I’m a wife of a very supporting, loving husband, mother of three wonderful kids and owner of two very hairy dogs, a sheltie and a collie and two tiger cats. I work part time as a cosmetologist, love gardening, baking, sewing and crafting of any kind, but especially working with polymer clay.
I first discovered Polymer clay in 1987, growing up in Germany. I was so intrigued by all the things I could do with the clay and had bought some books, for inspiration. At that time I made mostly jewelry and decorative door hangers. Moving to the United States and having a young family, changed my focus and I took a little rest from polymer clay, but was inspired a couple of years ago, by some new books. In 2009 I went to a New England clay meeting called Klay Karma. There I met a wonderful woman named Iris who works for Polyform and because of her recommendation I am now able to create wonderful things for this company. I love the exposure to new products and the challenge to create something fun to inspire others. It is exciting to see my creations on websites, flyers, packaging and magazines. I’m excited to see what the future will bring, with my love for clay.
Happy claying,
Britta Lautenschlager!
