Sculpey® III Tween Necklace Rack

GETTING STARTEDDo not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per ¼" (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult. Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.

Using the Clay Conditioning Machine, roll out about ½ package of each Tranquility, Fuchsia Pearl and Spring Lilac colors into sheets about 2” wide on a medium thickness setting. Layer all three sheets on top of one another and roll them through the Clay Conditioning Machine again. Using the Super Slicer, cut the sheet in half, restack and reroll. Repeat this once more. The sheet should be slightly longer than 12” long and wider than 2 ½”.

Using the stamp or texture sheet, press the dot pattern evenly along the length of the strip.

With the Super Slicer held nearly horizontal to the clay surface, shave off the raised texture, exposing the layers of pattern. Shave the entire strip and roll over it with the Acrylic Roller to smooth the surface.

Using the Clay Conditioning Machine, roll out about ½ package of Gentle Plum into a sheet about 2-1/2” wide and over 12” long on a medium thickness setting. Cut 5-6 hearts out of the sheet spaced along the length.

Place the Gentle Plum sheet over the patterned sheet. Cut the edges evenly and to the desired width.

Place the strip down on the prepared plaque and gently press and smooth it to adhere to the surface. Smooth the ends over the contoured ends of the plaque and trim the excess clay.

Add brass eyelets and detail around the hearts with the smallest Style & Detail Tool. Bake according to the manufacturer’s instructions, let cool and Enjoy!
