Project Instructions
Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275 °F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4” (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.
Condition ¼ bar of Purple clay. Shape half of it into 1” ball and flatten it into a round disk. Use the other half to form eight beads. Slightly flatten and use the Plastic Needle Tool to press holes though them.
Mix ¼ bar of White clay and a pinch of Red clay to make Pink. Shape into nine round beads. Use the Plastic Needle Tool to press holes though the beads.
To Make the Peace Sign- Use the left over Pink clay and make a snake. Make another snake of White clay, the same size and length as the Pink. Twist the two logs together, fold in half and twist again until the clay is marbled. Make a thin snake and form a Peace Sign that will fit onto the large Purple bead. Press the Peace Sign on top of the Purple bead and use the Plastic Needle Tool to press lines on to the outside rim.
Bake the according to the directions above and allow to cool. Assemble as shown.
