Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured Liquid Polymer Clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately. - Stir Liquid Sculpey® completely. Thin with Sculpey® Liquid Clay Softener as needed - Wash hands after use (we have found that baby wipes work best)

    Baking:
• It is important to use oven thermometer when you bake the liquids so that you can ensure your oven is at the correct temperature. • Do not microwave the liquids. They must be baked in a Preheated oven at 275 ºF (130 ºC) for liquid colors and 300 ºF (149 ºC) for Clear – Do not exceed baking temperatures. • If your piece is less than 1/4” bake for 15 minutes. For thicker pieces that are 1/4” or above bake for 30 minutes. • If your liquid project has become yellowed or discolored in the oven, when you remake it, tent it by placing either – folding an index card in half and placing your project under it or by using aluminum foil over your project.
Squeeze a wide line of Sculpey Liquid Gold down the center of the mold. Add a smaller line of Garnet Metallic on one side and an even smaller line of Liquid Black on the other side. Swirl the black through the other colors with a toothpick. Take a picture of it after you’ve swirled it; so, you can make another one, similar to the first one.
Fill the mold with Garnet Metallic. Bake for 20 minutes at 275 F.
After baking and cooling the first cabochon, make one more, placing the black and Garnet Metallic on opposite sides of the Gold and fill with the Garnet Metallic. Bake for 20 minutes at 275 F.
Place a cabochon on paper and trace around it. Place on a #2 sheet of Sculpey Premo Black. Cut two black teardrop shapes. Set aside.
Trim the tassels and affix to the cabochons, with the cab pointed side down, using a generous amount of glue. Allow to dry.
Add jump rings to the rounded end of the #2 teardrop shapes pressing in lightly. Add a small, flat ball of clay and press over the ring. Settle it with your stylus, making sure it is secure.
Once the glue on your cabs is thoroughly dry, press the sides of the cabs with the tassels attached, into the black backs. Carefully REMOVE the black backs and bake the backs for 30 minutes at 275F.
Cool the backs. Attach backs to fronts with Superglue and clamp together. Allow to dry. Put the ear wires on your pretty earrings.
