Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 30 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Roll 1/2 ounce each Regal Purple and Azure Blue into ropes that are 1/2” thick. Press the ropes together sides touching.
Cut the ropes in half and press them all together sides touching with colors alternating.
Flatten the ropes through the pasta machine on the thickest setting.
Fold the striped sheet in half with the fold going across the stripes and matching blue to blue and purple to purple. Press the sheet through the pasta machine on the thickest setting fold first to help the color stripes blend a bit.
Repeat folding and pressing the sheet through the pasta machine until you are happy with the way the stripes are blending.
Lay the sheet flat on the work surface. Impress the Petals texture as deeply as possible into the clay sheet. Carefully remove the texture sheet from the clay.
With the flexible Super Slicer, carefully shave off all the textures. Take your time and remove as much of the raised surface as you can without going below it.
Here’s how the sheet will look after the texture is removed.
Press the sheet through the pasta machine on the second thickest setting.
Cut out two 1.5” circles from your favorite areas of the clay sheet.
Use the flexible Super Slicer, and holding it with a slight bend in it, remove slivers from the circle shapes so they are now curved triangles.
Smooth all the cut edges with your fingertips. Poke holes in the top of each triangle using the 2 mm ball tool. Poke the tool in one direction, then flip the shape over and poke the tool through again from the back to make the hole really neat.
Bake the triangles following the baking instructions for Premo Sculpey®. When they are completely cool, use the flat nose pliers to open the medium oval jump rings and insert them into the holes in the triangles. Add the small oval jump rings to the medium ones and use the pliers to close them. Add ear wires to the small ovals.
