Project Instructions
    Getting Started:
Please make sure your work area is covered and you are not working on an unprotected surface. We recommend working on the Sculpey® Oven-Safe Work Mat, wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Uncured clay may damage unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Be sure to cover your crafting area appropriately.

Start with clean hands, unwrap and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay though a Pasta Machine. We recommend using a designated machine for clay purposes only. When working with multiple colors, clean hands with soap and water or baby wipes (we have found that baby wipes work best) before switching colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces firmly together. Wash hands after use.

    Baking:
Begin by preheating oven to 275 °F (130 °C). After you are done creating; for best results bake clay on an oven-proof surface such metal, aluminum foil, an index card or the Sculpey® Clay Mat at 275°F (130 °C) for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) thickness according to package directions. Oven safe glass or ceramic surfaces are also acceptable for baking; however please note that the baking times may take longer as the glass or ceramic surfaces take longer to heat up. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME.
Cut a piece of copy paper that is long enough to wrap around the outside of a soda can and wide enough to cover the center of the can (not the tapered ends). Use the ruler and pen to draw two lines on the paper which are at least 1” apart. Wrap the paper around the can so that the two ends of the lines meet. Tape the ends of the paper together and tape the paper to the can. Repeat this process on the second soda can. Note: The lines on the paper will help you keep the bracelets straight when wrapping the clay around the can.
Condition 1/2 block each of White Glitter and Pink Glitter clay. Roll each color into a log. Press the two logs of color together and twist until you have achieved the desired amount of marbling.

Roll the marbled piece of clay into a log that is approximately 1/2” in diameter. Press the log of clay flat and run through the Clay Conditioning Machine on the thickest setting. The resulting length of the strip of clay needs to be at least 9-10” long. Use the Super Slicer blade to trim the strip of clay to 1/2” wide. Set the long strip of clay to the side.
Condition 1-block of Jewelry Gold. Roll out two strips of clay that are approximately 3/4” wide and at least 9-10” long. Trim one of the strips to 1/2” wide. Set the two strips of clay to the side.

Condition 1/4 block of Black Glitter clay. Pick up the untrimmed strip of Jewelry Gold clay and lay it on your work surface. Roll small bits of Black Glitter clay. Add these small bits of clay, one at a time, to the strip of Jewelry Gold. Keep the bits of Black Glitter clay closer to the center of the strip of clay and gently press into place while keeping them in an irregular shape. Continue adding Black Glitter dots until you have the length of the strip of clay covered in dots.
Roll out a small sheet of each of the following colors: Hazelnut, Jewelry Gold, and Pearl. From the sheets cut 1/2” squares in the following amounts: 3-Hazelnut, 1-Jewelry Gold, and 1-Pearl. Condition the pieces of clay together into a solid color.
Begin rolling small bits of the hazelnut mixture. Place the small bits of the hazelnut mixture so they are partially on top of the Black Glitter areas. When pressing the hazelnut mixture pieces into place make sure they are irregularly shaped. Continue adding the hazelnut mixture dots until each Black Glitter area has a hazelnut mixture dot. When finished trim the strip of clay to 1/2” wide.
Pick up the White Glitter and Pink Glitter marbled strip of clay. Wrap the strip of clay around the soda can with one cut edge of the strip touching a drawn line on the paper.

Once you have wrapped the strip around the can use the Super Slicer blade to cut at an angle through the overlap section of the strip. After you have cut through both layers remove the excess clay. Add a small amount of Bake and Bond to one of the cut ends. Press the two ends together and gently wipe away any excess Bake and Bond. Repeat this process with the remaining two strips of clay. Note: You should be able to able comfortably work with two strips of clay on one can. If you find it difficult, use 3 cans, one per bracelet. Bake all bracelets for 30-minutes and let cool completely.
OPTIONAL - Hold the bracelet and piece of the sandpaper under cool running water and gently sand the cut edges so they are slightly rounded. Sanding the edges softens the fine edge from when you cut the strip which makes putting on and taking off the bracelet more comfortable.
