Directions
for Terra
Cotta pot using the Leaf Motif mold and the Sconce mold - 8" pot:
- Roll out a
tube of terra cotta Sculpey about 3/4" in diameter and slightly
smaller than the border you are going to use.

- To fill the
mold, press the coil into the mold starting at one end of the border.

- Trim off the
excess clay with your Super Slicer. Be careful not to cut the mold.

- Gently pull
your molded border from the mold. Because the molds are flexible,
you can bend the mold back to release the clay form the mold.

- Put a bead
of Translucent Liquid Sculpey on one end of the back of the molded
piece. You may also use API Ultimate Tacky Glue.

- Spread across
the back of the molded piece with a bamboo skewer or toothpick to
get a nice even coating.

- Press on the
molded band onto the pot evenly. Make sure all of the molded piece
is attached, with no gaping areas.

- Now, mold more
pieces of the same border mold and follow the above directions to
go all the way around the top of the pot.
- Use your sconce
mold and pick an embellishment that you like. Mold enough to go
around the pot under the lip. Be sure to put Liquid
Sculpey on the back of each piece before you attach it.
- Bake your pot
in a calibrated 275 degree F (130 degrees C) oven for 30 minutes.
Then turn off the oven and let the pot cool in the oven. When cool,
take out and give your plants a beautiful new home.
For Blue Glazed
Pot:
- Use the summer
flower mold and go around the top of the pot like you did in the
previous project.
- Put a smaller
border on the saucer. Bake in the oven as above. When cool, paint
with Pebeo Porcelaine 150, and let dry according to product directions.
Bake again for 35 minutes according to product directions.
