  • Pinback or magnet (personal choice)

Directions:

Use a blade or knife to divide the red clay once down the middle.

Then, cut along the lines.

You will have 8 small squares of clay. Take one of the squares.

Shape the small square into a tube.

Roll with your finger until you get this shape.

Flatten the shape.

Elongate the Dragon's snout and square it off a bit at the end.

Curl the tail upwards and into an "s" shape.

Divide another of the squares into one large and one small piece.

Roll the smaller piece into a snake shape for the arm, and the larger one for a leg.

Flatten, and shape the hind leg into a slight curve; press onto body as shown.

Use a needle tool (or a darning needle) topress lines in Dragon's tummy, and outline them down to the tail.

Use the needle tool to press a smiling mouth into face. Shape a small amount of the leftover red clay into a small flat round cheek. Press it on above the smile.

Use a tiny bit of red clay to shape a small eyelid and a triangle for the tail.

Remove a tiny chunk of white clay from the end of the bar as shown.

Press the white clay on above the Dragon's cheek, and add a thin red snake for the eyelid. Press a nostril in the nose.

Press a small black dot of clay in for the eye. If desired add a tiny white "sparkle" (dot of white) for his eye.

Use the tip and side of the needle tool to press lines in for the front and hind toes.

Cut a small bit of yellow off the bar and roll into a long tube.

Be certain the tube of yellow is long enough to reach from head to toe.

Press it firmly to the back of the Dragon. Add the triangle for the tail tip.

Press lines inward and downward to make along back fin.

Slice off a tiny bit of green clay.

Shape the green clay into a flat teardrop.

Use the needle tool to cut "v's" out of the side of the teardrop.

Press a line down the uncut edge.

Pick up the teardrop which will be a wing with the needle tool and press it down dirmly into the Dragon's shoulder as shown. Your dragon is now complete!

Bake the Dragon in a calibrated 275 degree oven for 35 minutes, and allow him to cool. Use Super Glue Gel to attach a pinback, or a magnet to the back.
