syndee holt
syndee holt came to polymer clay as a means to maintain her sanity. A single mother with a full-time career at UCSD, she quickly absorbed even more into her life, including being one of the founding members of the San Diego Polymer Clay Guild, as well as becoming an independent designer for Polyform Products, Jacquard Products and Savage Universal. She authored "Polymer Clay for the First Time" and became a columnist and editorial advisor for Expression art magazine as well as contributing over 100 polymer clay articles to numerous other books and magazines in the U.S. and Great Britain. Teaching polymer clay is another activity she excels in, even teaching in Spanish in Mexico City. In her spare time, she enjoys being a "band Mom" for her sons' high school marching band. She holds a degree in photography from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara. Her commercial photography training is a definite asset to her book and magazine articles, as well as her skills at creating "fresh" designs with limited resources. "I think my best projects combine my photography, computer and clay skills - at least I like them the best!" She still may not be sane, but she's happy.
