Adria Filion
"All of my life I have struggled with my art; knowing inside, this was all I could do. I have experimented with every art material I could get my hands on, but became disillusioned with my art and resigned myself to seeking out a mainstream job. Fortunately, I discovered polymer clay... the PVC goodness that could be turned into metal, glass, semi-precious stone, watercolour paint, wood, etc. Anything my heart desired - all in one little package... I have never looked back!
My pallet is inspired by the earth, by the water, plant-life, and hidden creatures. Some might think my work is eclectic - but this is just a reflection of my personality: the girl with an affininity for things of a gothic nature, who's just as happy sitting in the garden and rearing butterflies in her hatchery. At its base, all my work is the same - my way of expressing to you who I am, and hoping you can identify with some part of me."
Adria Filion is a multi-talented artist located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. With a head so full of ideas, Adria's hands simply ache to create. Adria's work is inspired by the Art & Music she surrounds herself. Exclusive pieces are full of warm curves, unique lines and beautiful colour combinations making each model one of a kind.
With a Graphic Arts degree and vast Independent Study experience, Adria works with a variety of mediums, including wood, metals, glass and clay sculpture; each medium offering its own contribution to the look of her work with polymer clay. Relatively new to polymer clay, Adria started with 6 one ounce blocks of Sculpey 3... Talent, technique and 2 years later - her work has grown by leaps and bounds.
Adria has recently accepted occasional teaching positions to show others her distinctive and creative methods
