Tamila Darling
I've always been an artsy crafty kind of gal a trait instilled in me by both of my parents. My mom taught me how to make homemade salt dough when I was about 10. My father, who is a contractor, let me tag along in the workshop and has taught me much about home improvements over the years. My favorite gifts and toys as a child were always the art and craft kits they would purchase for me. Now that I'm a big girl, I just adore those power tools and workshop gadgets that I receive.
I started making primarily seasonal and holiday themed items for the art & craft shows that I sold at. I became known for my intricate detailing to my pieces and precise caning when it comes to miniatures and food items. Then I expanded my horizons and now spend all my creative energy making home décor items, art deco objects, journals and other similar items that I teach in classes.
Currently I spend much of my clay time demonstrating for Polyform Products in addition to designing projects for magazine articles, Polyform Products website and the classes I teach the past five years.
My full-time career outside of clay is in the world of investments. I've been employed at the same firm since 1990 as an Administrative Manager and I am also a Licensed Stockbroker.
