I first saw polymer clay on The Carol Duvall Show and was amazed by the versatility of the product. I purchased several packs and began playing, I was hooked! I have been working with Sculpey and Premo ever since. I recently had a project published in Pack O Fun magazine with another coming up in the December 2006 issue. Polymer Café has also showcased one of my projects with another one coming up this year. This is exciting to me.
My Christmas ornament is based on a crazy quilt. I drew a stocking, segmented off the crazy patch pieces and cut everything from clay. I cut a backing piece first, used decorative edge paper scissors to make the edging, and then cut out all the project pieces of the crazy patch separately. Each crazy patch piece was cut from a different color of clay and some were either texturized or rubber stamped. I made the roping with a clay gun. I used actual embroidery stitches from clay to embellish the crazy patch. After baking I covered the entire ornament with Sculpey Gloss Glaze and then lightly highlighted the high spots with bronze Run 'n Buff. Fun and easy!
