Directions
- Coat all four
outside surfaces of a small matchbox with a thin coat of Sobo glue
(or another white craft glue). Set it aside to dry.
- Condition clay.
Roll out a sheet of pearl clay to 1/16 inch thick. Using a craft
knife or Sculpey Super Slicer, trim the sheet to approximately 4.25
x 2.25 inches.

- Ink selected
stamp or stamps with Memories ink. Press stamp firmly but gently
onto sheet of prepared clay. Remove stamp.

- Add color carefully
if desired using craft chalks and small applicators.
- With a piece
of wax paper protecting the stamped surface, wrap the matchbox with
the sheet of clay. Press carefully to avoid trapping air and to
insure good contact. Trim edges and smooth seams.
- Mix small portions
of coordinating colors of clay with extra pearl clay to create pastel
shades. Roll a small amount of this clay into a narrow snake.
- Cut the snake
in half. Wrap each half around a skewer and press one firmly to
each side of the covered box.
- Bake at 275
degrees F for 30 minutes. Cool completely. While the box is baking,
paint the drawer, using a fairly dry brush with the Lumiere. Once
it is dry, pierce a hole at one end and wire on a bead for the "pull".
-
Optional: Apply
one or more coats of Future floor finish or another polymer friendly
glaze.
- Insert finished
drawer into box, add cord, and enjoy!
