Directions:

Step one - Body

  • Shape a 1" ball of white into a pear shape.

Step two - Legs

  • Roll two 3/4" balls of beige into tapered logs. With your thumb, gently press upwards on the wider end of the log. This will create the foot. Press the smaller end into the base of the body.

Step three - Dress

  • Start with a 3/4" ball of white and gradually roll the clay through the pasta machine until you reach #5. When you have the #5 sheet, place it on the underside of the 4x4 fabric swatch. Now roll them together through the pasta machine again but this time set it on #6. This binds the fabric and clay together. Now you have a fabric clay sheet to work with.
  • With a scissors, cut the sheet into a circle about 3" in diameter. Now cut a single cut to the center of the circle (like a tree skirt). This will enable you to wrap the dress around the body. You can cut small squares for patches and pockets from the scraps of the clay-fabric. Keeping the slit in the back, gently wrap the material around the body being sure to create the creases of the dress. The clay on fabric will adhere to the clay body.

Step four - Arms

  • Shape two 5/8" balls of white into tapered logs again. With the smaller end pressed to the shoulders (This does require some pressure) lay the arms out with a slight bend at the elbow.
  • Roll two beige 3/8" balls and press them to the ends of the arms.
  • Cut a white heart with the Kemper cutter and add this to the hands. You can cut a smaller heart swatch from the scrap clay-fabric and press to the center of this heart.

Step five - Head and Face

  • Roll a 3/8" ball of white and flatten to the top of the body for the turtleneck.
  • Now press a 7/8" ball of beige for the head. To provide color for cheeks, brush chalk or cheek blusher on the face.
  • Press the glass seed beads sideways for the eyes. Use the needle to indent the stitches along the feet too.

Step six - Wings and Patches

  • With the heart cutter, cut two hearts for the wings and press to the back of the dress and the back of the head. This also will support her head and arms.
  • Indent the stitches on the hearts with the needle and also add the patches on her elbows and pockets on her dress. Now she is ready to be baked.

Step seven - Hair and Bow

  • For the hair unravel the Bunca thread and cut into tiny pieces.
  • Dab some glue to the top of her head, add the hair pieces and let dry.
  • You can also tie a little bow of the same material as the dress (minus the clay) and glue this on and she is all ready!

Baking Instructions:

The rule of thumb for baking is: 275 degrees F (130 degrees C) for 30 minutes per ¼" of thickness for Premo! Sculpey. Always use a timer and check visually frequently to avoid any darkening.
