| Ladybug 'n Leaves
Refrigerator Magnet Picture Frame |
Materials:
Directions:
- Roll a small ball of clay in proportion
to the size of the acrylic picture frames.
- Flatten the ball of clay slightly
by pressing down on the top. Be sure to keep the top "domed."
- Take a needle or needle tool and make
a slight indentation down the center.
- Roll a tiny ball of black clay for
the ladybug's nose.
- Roll 4 very tiny balls of black clay
and place them on the ladybug's back for her "spots."
- Using a Kemper cutter in the leaf
shape, press out several leaf shapes.
- Using a needle tool or skewer, impress
vein lines into the leaf pieces.
- Using fingers, smooth around the
edges of the leaf. Then, elongate the leaf slightly and curve the
narrow end down or up depending on preference. This will make the
leaves look more realistic.
- Impress two leaves together. Place
a ladybug (or two) on the leaf, and press together.
- Bake at 275 degrees for 20 minutes
per ¼ inch of thickness. Let cool completely.
- If a high gloss is desired, apply
one or two coats of Sculpey glaze, or spray with an acrylic spray.
