Description
A great project
for kids to do for their dads, a new twist on getting him ties for
dad's day!
Materials
- Sculpey
- Tie tack or
Pin backs
- Hot glue
Scope and
Sequence
Step 1 - Think
of something fun that your dad would want to stick in his tie, like
'I love dad", or "best dad", or a drawing of you, or whatever. The
tie tack should not be any larger than an inch, so it will not get
in dad's way. Start with a base that is shaped like a disk or a dome,
no thicker than 3/8 inch.
Step 2 - Add on
the details, making sure you press them down so they stick. A good
way to make letters is by rolling out very skinny snakes, and cutting
them for each part of each letter. Remember to use colors that would
go with your dad's clothes. He probably doesn't have a suit that would
look good with a neon green tie tack, or maybe he does, it's your
dad!
Step 3 - Bake
according to package directions. Step 4 - When cool, have a grownup
help glue on the tie or pin backs using hot glue. Then give them to
your dad for a great Father's Day present!
