I just adore
the look of Sculpey products on my scrapbook pages. There’s
something so appealing about adding lightweight texture and
dimension to create a personal keepsake.
One of my favorite
techniques involves using Premo! Sculpey and a lettering
template to create
a unique, handmade page titles. Ready to give it a try? Here
are the simple steps to follow:

Materials and Tools:

- Premo! Sculpey in a variety of colors. Scrap clay in natural
colors works well.
- I mixed
Raw Sienna 5392, Gold 5303 and Burnt Umber 5053.
- Craft Knife
- Lettering template of your choice. I used 2” Lucky
by Deja Views.
- Lumiere Paints by Jacquard. I used Olive Green,
Super Copper and Ochre
- Pasta machine, acrylic brayer, or rolling pin
dedicated to polymer clay
Optional:
Directions:
- Condition all colors of clay. Mix together in a pleasing
combination and roll out a sheet of clay about 1/16th
inch thick, using
a pasta machine or an acrylic roller.
- Place the template over the clay. Using a craft knife,
carefully trim around the edges of the letter.
Repeat for each letter
of your title.

- Place the pieces on a baking tray and bake at 275
degrees F for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven
and cool. If the
pieces
are not flat
after baking, place a ceramic tile or heavy
book on top of the warm clay until it cools.
- Using a paintbrush (or fingers if you prefer),
dab Lumiere paints over each letter. Play
around with different combinations
of colors,
and build up layers if desired.

- For a satiny finish to the title treatment,
paint on Sculpey Glaze.

- Enjoy your finished title!
