Materials
and Tools:

Instructions:
- Condition
each color of clay separately till soft and smooth.
- Letters: (Combine
from two to all colors together, excluding Translucent and White
for variegated colors.) Make a ½” ball of desired
colors. Blend till slightly marbled.

- Work on
a clean, smooth, flat surface. Roll ball into a long snake
3/16” in diameter.

- Shape letters
as pictured. Some need to be made in sections then gently pressed
together. Blend and smooth edges. Cut off excess and square
ends with craft knife.
- Heart: Make
a ¼” ball and flatten into a heart shape. Flatten
evenly to 1/8” thickness with rolling pin.

Combine
colors to make one 5/8” ball for each balloon as follows:
- #1: Turquoise,
Mint & Yellow
- #2: Yellow & Fluorescent
Green
- #3: Yellow & Fluorescent
Red

Flatten
each ball into a 1/8” thick pear shape. Apply Liquid
Sculpey to one end of wire, insert 3/8” into bottom of
balloon. Note: You may also use a dab of Super Glue Gel if
you do not have Liquid Sculpey.

- Shape Yellow
Clown Hat in same manner:
- Use
5/8” ball of Yellow.
- Roll ¼” ball
of Fluorescent Red into a long snake 1/16” in diameter.
- Bend
snake in squiggle pattern along bottom edge.
- Cut
side edges even with hat.
- Make
one 1/8” ball of Fluorescent Red, one 1/16” ball
of Turquoise and one 1/16” ball of Lime. Press balls
in place on hat as pictured.

Roll ¾” ball
of Fluorescent Red into a long snake approximately ¼” diameter.

Flatten
with rolling pin to 1/8” thick.

Cut
bottom end square with craft knife.
-
Cut ½” off
bottom.
-
Press ½” piece
centered across bottom of “1”.
-
Fold
top snake down to left side.
-
Pinch
together as pictured. Straighten sides if needed and cut
off excess with craft knife.
- Clown:
- Hair:
Roll ¾” ball of Fluorescent Red into a long snake
1/8” diameter. Cut into fifteen ½” long
pieces. Set aside. (Insert jpeg clown hair)

- Collar:
Make two ¼” balls of Lime, two ¼” balls
of Yellow and one ¼” ball of Turquoise. Flatten
into 1/8” thick ovals. Set aside. (Insert jpeg clown
collar)

- Face:
(Insert jpeg make clown face) Roll Translucent into a ball.
Flatten into a 1/8” thick circle.

- Press hair
in place on top and sides of head.
- Press collar
sections in place along bottom edge of face.
- Roll White
into a ½” long snake and shape. Press mouth, eyes
and nose in place.
- Bow:
- Combine
Yellow and Fluorescent Red together to make a ½” ball.
- Roll into
a long snake.
- Shape bow
as pictured. Flatten with finger. Stamp center of bow with
button or small object to texture.
- Carefully
place letters and shapes on non-stick baking dish. Bake in 275
degrees preheated oven according to package instructions. (Always
check with an external oven thermometer.) Let cool.
- If desired,
brush entire surface with Sculpey Glaze. Let dry.
- Prepare card
stock: Refer to photo for position and placement.
- Cut hearts
out of 2 ½” x 3 ½” of Bright Yellow
and 3 ¼” x 4 ¼” of Bright Orange as
pictured.
- Trim edge
of 3 ¾” x 10 ½” of Bright Yellow with
Pinking edgers.
- Trim edges
of 4 ½” x 6 5/8” of Bright Yellow and 1 ¼” x
5 ½” of Bright Orange and Bright Orange heart with
Ripple paper edgers.
- Punch notch
in corners of 5 ¼” x 7 ¼” Bright Orange.
- Insert 4” x
6” photo into notched corners of card stock. Glue card
stock together as pictured. Glue card stock on Yellow Green page.
Glue letters, “1”, clown, balloons, hats and bow
in place on page as pictured.

- Draw clown’s
mouth with Red marker. Print details on card stock with colored
markers.
- Bend balloon
wires into shape. Wrap remaining wire around balloon wires. Shape
into shoestring type bow.
