with rounded end of handle

- Craft knife,
X-Acto knife
Instructions:
Use copy paper
or index cards for work surface, or tape waxed paper to table.
-
Knead
the raw sienna Premo until nice and pliable.
- You will need
two (2) ¾" diameter balls for the body and the head.
- You will need
two (2) ¼" diameter balls for the ears.
|
- Take the ¾"
diameter ball for the body. Roll it into a teardrop shape.
|
You
will also need two (2) 5/8" diameter balls for the arms.
- Take the 5/8"
diameter balls and roll into elongated teardrops. Do this by rolling
the ball into a fat log. Then, keep your finger on one end while
you roll some more. This will taper the log into the elongated teardrop.
|
Attach
the teardrops to the smallest end of the body teardrop. Push these
onto the body shape by taking your first two fingers and pushing
towards each other on the body teardrop.
|
Place
the head ball on the body and arms. Place this slightly over the
top of the arms and body and with both of your first fingers, press
down towards your work surface and down towards the body and arms.
This will give you ear indents on the head.
|
Take
the small ¼" diameter ear balls and place them into the indents
you have made on the top of the head. Now, use the handle of your
small paintbrush to make the indentation in the ears. Push into
the ear ball and down towards the head at the same time.
|
- Now, for the
rest of the bear!
- You will need
one (1) ¼" ball of beige for the muzzle.
- You will need
two (2) 1/16" balls of beige for the pads of the paws.
- You will need
six (6) 1/32" balls of beige for the toes on the paws.
- Place the
¼" beige ball on the face of your bear, right in the middle
of the head. Press on the bottom of the ball with the side of the
pad of your thumb.
-
Take
the pencil with the eraser pulled out and use the brass fitting
to cut a mouth. Hold the pencil on an angle and press into the muzzle
to cut a mouth. Do not cut all the way through the clay, just make
an impression. Take the two (2) 1/16" balls and place one on
the bottom half of each paw and flatten to the paw. Next, take the
six (6) 1/32" balls and place three over each paw pad.
|
- Take your Bic
Stic pen and poke two holes for the eyes. The space between the
eyes is about 1 hole apart. The two holes are placed directly over
the muzzle and close to it. You need to poke these holes past the
brass pen tip. Then they will be deep enough.
- For the nose
and eyes: you will need one (1) 1/16 ball of black for the nose
and two (2) 1/32" balls of black for the eyes.
- For the nose,
take the 1/16" ball and roll into a little coil and place firmly
across the high point of the muzzle.
- Place the
two (2) 1/32" balls into the eye holes you made with the pen.
- For the bow:
You will need two (2) ¼" balls and one (1) 1/8" ball of
the color of your choice.
- Roll the two
(2) ¼" balls into little coils, flatten and fold over. Then,
wipe off pencil lead from point of pencil and use the pencil to
place each half of the bow on the neck of the bear.
-
Roll
the 1/8" ball and place it on top of the two halves of the
bow for the knot.
- Screw cup
hook into bottom of the body of the bear. Bake bear in a household
or toaster oven (calibrated) at 275 degrees F (160 degrees C) for
30 minutes per ¼" of thickness.
- When bear
is cooled, glue ¾" magnet to the back. Add your favorite pot
holder and you have a handy and cute kitchen ornament!!!
