S – Linda Hess
I discovered polymer clay about 12yrs ago at a craft show where an artist let me pick her brain. She told me the materials to buy and what to do. I went out and promptly jumped in head (hands??) first. I LOVE the endless possibilities of this medium and share that love (and addiction) with students aged 5yrs and up. I call this piece "S is for Seasons". I wanted it to have a “collagey” effect. Fluid chalks were used to color the canvas before any of the clay was applied. Texture and color helped to identify each season. Many elements were made from the new seasons molds. The buses were cut from rubber stamped clay (if you look closely you will see Ms. Frizzle in the driver's seat).
