I'm So
Impressed
|

I adore the look of handmade accents on my scrapbook pages. Now,
using the hot new texture sheets from Sculpey and metallic pigments,
it’s easy to create cool clay embellishments that lend
heartfelt meaning to your scrapbook pages. Check out this worthwhile
technique for impressive page accents.

Materials and Tools:

-
Colored clay. I used a mix of Premo! Clay combination of Copper
5018 and Red Pearl 5259 for the textures and Raw Sienna for
the bottom layer of each accent.
-
Sculpey Texture Sheets. I used Dancing Spirals.
-
Sculpey Shapelets templates. I used the Heart Design.
-
Metallic pigments. I used Pearl-Ex powders in Gold, Copper, Bronze,
etc.
-
Craft Knife
- Pasta machine,
acrylic brayer, or rolling pin dedicated to polymer clay.
Optional:
-
With
fingers or a paint brush, apply Pearl-Ex powders onto the strip
of clay. The impressed parts will remain clay colored.
-
Using
a template and craft knife, trim accent shapes.
-
Place
accents on thin sheet of different colored clay, and trim carefully.
-
Bake
at 275 for about fifteen minutes. If the pieces are not flat
after
baking, place a ceramic tile or heavy book on top of the warm clay until it
cools.
-
Use
glue dots or double sided tape to adhere accents to your scrapbook
page.
