Directions:
1. Mix together equal amounts of silver and pearl
2. Create a purple tinted translucent by mixing together 1/4
oz of purple with 2 oz of translucent
3. Create three more tinted translucents using violet, cobalt
blue and ultramarine
4. Create a stacked slab of clay as follows, from the bottom up:
- Four thickness of light silver at the #1 setting on the pasta machine
- Silver leaf
- Cobalt tint at the #4 setting on the pasta machine
- Silver leaf
- Violet tint at the #4 setting on the pasta machine
- Silver leaf
- Ultramarine tint at the #4 setting on the pasta machine
- Silver leaf
- Purple tint at the #4 setting on the pasta machine
- Silver leaf
- Pearl at the #4 setting on the pasta machine
- Black at the #4 setting on the pasta machine
This is how the stack would look from the side.

5. Spread a thin layer of baby powder on the top of the stack. Impress
the stack with a variety of tools to poke through all the layers.

6. The stack may come a bit apart while impressing it with the tools.
Reform to the stack by pressing at the sides to return it to its
original state. Use the acrylic roller to flatten the top surface
7. Stick the stack firmly to your work surface so that it won’t
slide. Using the slicer, slice very thin layers off of the top of
the stack. Save the pieces that you cut away.
8. Roll out blue pearl clay at the #1 setting. Place the slices
on the sheet of blue pearl. Flatten the surface of the clay when
all the slices are applied, and roll through the pasta machine at
the #1 setting. On the left is the mokume gane stack, and on the
right the slices have been applied to the blue pearl, and run through
the pasta machine

9. Roll out blue
pearl at the #4 setting. Use the box as a guide to cut out sides
and bottom to fit inside. Line the box with white
glue and let dry to tacky. Line the box with the blue clay, and smooth
the inner edges.

10. Bake as directed on package.
11. Roll the mokume gane sheet at the #2, then #3, then #4 settings
on the pasta machine, turning the sheet 90 degrees in between each
pass through the pasta machine
12. Use the box as a guide to cut out sides and bottom to fit
the outside of the box. Line the box with white glue and
let dry to tacky.
Line the outside of the box with mokume gane sheets.
13. Bake as directed on package.
