- Sculpey
III Clays:
- Lime 521:
4 bars divided as follows: 2 bars for the body, 3/4 bar for
each leg/foot, 1/2 bar for the head
- Lemon
Yellow 573: 2 bars divided as follows: 1 bar for the body, 1/4
bar for each leg/foot, 1/2 bar for the head
- Red Hot
Red 583: 1/4 inch ball for the tongue
- Black 042:
1/4 inch ball
- Translucent
Liquid Sculpey
- Sculpey
Glaze
- Two 15mm round
wiggle eyes
- Paintbrush*
Kid Dynasty B-400, #8
- Ruler
- Plastic Knife
- Oven set to
bake reliably at 275 degrees (Always check with an external oven
thermometer)
- Old baking
pan lined with index cards
- Beacon

Directions: |

1. Condition clay by kneading and rolling in your hands until clay is
soft and smooth. |

2. Combine colors for body, blend until marbled. Roll into a ball.
Repeat for head and legs/feet.

3. Make body
parts as pictured.
Body:
Roll clay
into a 9 ½" long snake. Form a 3 1/8" high x 3 ½" wide ring. Blend
and smooth ends together. Place ring on flat surface. Flatten
with fingers to approximately 3/8" thick.
Roll clay
into a 3 ½" long snake tapering to ¼" wide on top and 1" wide
on bottom. Bend ¾" on bottom forward on 90 degree angle for foot.
Pinch and shape toes with fingers. Top press grooves at knees
with back edge of plastic knife.
Flatten clay
into a 1 ½" high x 2" wide oval. Press eyes in place. Remove eyes.
Tongue. Shape Red clay into a ½" long U.
Pinch four
tiny pieces off Black. Roll each into a tiny ball.
Roll
remainder of Black clay into a 1 ½" long skinny snake.

4. Assemble Frog: Apply Liquid Sculpey sparingly between sections
before pressing in place.
Position ring
with seam at center top.
Position and
press legs in place on opposite sides of front body so bottom edges
of feet are even with bottom edge of body.

Press mouth, tongue and freckles on face.
Press head firmly in place.
|

5. Place on baking
pan. Bake at 275 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool.
6. Brush entire
surface with Sculpey Glaze. Let dry.

7.
Glue eyes on face.
8.
Cut photo ½ inch larger than opening. Glue
on back of frame.
