Note: The fun thing about these letters is that they
can be made in assorted sizes and colors or color
combinations to suit everyday use or just about any special occasion,
holiday or party theme. Experiment!
Letters can be left
smooth or textured by stamping with decorative buttons, stamps,
tools
or old costume jewelry. You can also make numbers in the same manner.
Use your letters or numbers to decorate memory pages with names,
dates and all sorts of things.

What a great way to decorate your
memory album. Be creative and have fun!
Materials:
- Premo! Sculpey
clay, solid or assorted colors, approximately ½” ball
for each letter. (Some letters like M or W are slightly larger
and need a tiny bit more clay.)
- Sculpey Glaze
- Sculpey Craft knife
- Paintbrush
- Ruler
- Non-stick baking pan
- Oven preheated to 275 degrees
- Waxed paper, optional
- Rolling pin, optional

Instructions:
- Condition
each color of clay separately till soft and smooth. For variegated
letters
combine assorted colors to make a ½” ball. Blend
together till lightly marbled. For solid letters use ½” ball
of one color. Insert jpeg 1 Clay
- Work on a
clean, smooth, flat work surface. Roll ball of clay evenly into
a long snake approximately 3/16” thick.
Insert jpeg 2 Roll
- Refer to photo
to bend and shape snake into desired letter approximately
1” tall. C, I,
L, M, N, O, P, S, U, V & Z are made in one piece.
A, B, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, Q, R, T, W, X & Y are
made in multiple sections and then pressed together gently
but
firmly to secure. Insert jpeg Cut
With Kraft Knife
- After letter is formed smooth and blend
edges together. Ends may be squared off by cutting
evenly with craft knife
or tapered by pinching between fingers.
- Flatten letters
evenly between 1/8” and 3/32” thick.
Press with finger or rolling pin for smooth surface
or object like rubber stamp or decorative button for textured surface.
Insert jpeg Texture
- Carefully place letters on non-stick
baking dish. Bake in 275 degrees preheated oven according
to package instructions.
(Always check with an external oven thermometer.) Let cool.
- Brush entire surface with Sculpey
Glaze. Let dry.
