These cookies look good enough to eat and will last forever. This project would be great for a child who is old enough to treat it as a delicate toy (and not put the cookies in her mouth) or a centerpiece for a wedding, anniversary or baby shower. I have chosen sweet new colors of SculpeyIII, but you could try it in bridal or baby colors. Make it in miniature to give as favors.

Materials:
Condition all clay before beginning.
- Pasta Machine or Acrylic Roller
- SculpeyIII-1 Bar each: Round Paper Mache Box
- Vanilla Crème Ivory Acrylic Paint
- Sunset Soft Brush
- Ballerina Toothpick
- Granny Smith Sculpey Super Slicer
- Pale Pistachio White or Pearl Crayon
- White Tiny Craft Cutters
- Premo - 1 Bar each : Miniature Cookie Cutters
- Translucent Clear Rainbow Wrap
- Ecru Crinkle Cut Paper Shred
- Fine Craft Sand in Tan Ribbon
- White Liquid Sculpey -or-
- TLS tinted with White Oil Paint
- Ceramic Tile for Baking
- Brown Eye Shadow or Chalk
- Sponge Tip Eye Shadow Applicator
Preparing the Box:

Paint the Paper Mache Box with the Ivory Acrylic Paint using a soft brush. Paint with the lid in place, being sure not to get paint under the lid. When the box is dry, water down the paint and use a wash only on the upper part of the box bottom or the lid won’t fit on again. Paint the inside of the box with the wash.
Making the Cookie Dough:
Combine ¼ bar each of White SculpeyIII, Ecru and Translucent Premo with 2 teaspoons of craft sand, adding a little at a time. This gives the cookies a baked dough texture.
Making the Cookies:

1. Roll out the cookie dough on the largest setting of the pasta machine or with an acrylic roller to 1/8” thickness.
2. Place on a ceramic tile and cut out cookies with mini cookie cutters.
3. Slide the super slicer under the cookies to lift them from the tile.
4. Load the sponge tip applicator with brown powder.
5. Apply the powder to the side of the cookies, then the edges of the cookie tops. Blend with the applicator, avoiding the center to make the cookies look baked. Set aside.
Making the Decorations:
Combine ¼ block of each color of Sculpey III with 1/8 block of Translucent Premo until completely blended.
Leaves:
1. Blend Granny Smith and Pistachio clay so that you can still see both colors.
2. Begin with a pearl-sized ball of clay and flatten it into a leaf shape.
3. Using the toothpick, make two indentions in the center of the leaf.
4. Pinch one end and pull the clay into a point.
5. Pinch the opposite end and you have a leaf that looks like piped frosting.
Roses:
1. Begin with a pearl-sized ball of Sunset and a pea-sized ball of Ballerina.
2. Roll each ball into a snake.
3. Place the smaller snake on top of the larger snake and flatten into a thick ribbon.
4. Using a toothpick, drag the top color into the bottom color by making small lines.
5. Flatten more with your fingers, smoothing and pulling the ribbon until it is long and thin.

6. Using your finger, roll the end into a spiral and continue rolling until you have a rose. Pinch the bottom of the rose to make a nice, rounded shape.

Sprinkles:
1. Roll tiny dots of clay in all the colors.
2. Cut tiny snakes of clay into pieces.
3. Using the tiny shape cutters, punch various shapes (circles, hearts, flowers).
Decorating the Cookies:
1. Place shadowed cookies on the ceramic tile where they will be baked.

2. Using a toothpick, apply the white Liquid Sculpey to the cookies for a glaze on unbaked cookies.
3. Apply the sprinkles and roses. Make the cookies different, or matched.
4. Bake and cool on the tile.
Decorating the Cake Box:

1. Roll a pea-sized ball of Vanilla Crème (with Premo Translucent added as above), flatten and apply to the edge of the box. As you flatten the ball onto the edge, it will become an oval. The clay will stick to the acrylic paint. (You can use a tiny dot of Liquid Sculpey on the edge to help the decorations stick).
2. Using a toothpick, make lines in the oval (4 or 5) to simulate piped frosting.
3. Continue completely around the edge, leaving small spaces in between ovals.
4. Roll beads of Ballerina and place in the spaces. Bake and cool.

5. Apply a thin, thin layer of Liquid Sculpey to the cake top (I used my finger).

6. Roll small snakes of the Granny Smith/Pistachio mix. Lay on the cake top in a pleasing design as if it were piped frosting. Add leaves and dots of green where the roses will be.

7. Place a toothpick in the center spiral of the rose to lift and place it on the cake top.

8. Complete the arrangement of roses by adding smaller roses in Ballerina and tiny Sunset sprinkles. Bake and Cool.

Finish the cake box by applying crayon on the upper box bottom to make the lid easy to get off and on.

Cut clear rainbow wrap and place in the bottom inside of the box. Place paper shred inside the box and arrange the cookies. Tie a ribbon around the wrap. Lovely!

Variation: Make little cake boxes and cookies to give as party favors that match a centerpiece. You can even add magnets to the back of the cookies.
