- CLEAR UTEE

- Pearl Ex Powders
- Lumiere' paints
- Beedz
- Gold or silver leafing
- Colored sand
- Jones Tones foils
- Spices*
- Old Makeup (not to be
used for face after using in clay)
- Metallic threads

*NOTE: any dried
or fresh spices may be combined with polymer clay -this lesson uses
old spices that may no longer be used in cooking but are GREAT to
combine with clay!
Directions:
- Condition the translucent
clay, as much as you'll need to "play" with. It can be part or all
of the clay, depending on how much you want to "play"! Run some
of the clay through the pasta machine on setting 1 or 2, (largest
or next larger setting). This will make a "sheet" to add your inclusions
to.

- Cut into several small
rectangles of the same size.
- Add a small amount of
desired inclusion. Use a small scoop to add just a tad to the center
of the sheet.

- Fold and press the edges
to "seal in" the inclusion.
NOTE: ALL POWDERS
AND FLAKES OF THINGS WILL WORK WITH THIS, BUT NOT the Jones Tones
foils or the BEEDZ (see list above). CAUTION! BEEDZ when run through
the pasta machine with clay will DAMAGE the machine!!! If using BEEDZ,
hand mix and knead.

- Re-run all through the
pasta machine several times until thoroughly mixed.

- Shape in desired bead
shape, press hole in using a needle tool or a wooden shish kabob
skewer, string on skewer, and suspend from sides of baking dish,
or flatten and stamp with inked stamp to make lovely pendants, etc.!

- When ready to bake, note
that translucent clay is VERY prone to discoloration IF YOU
BAKE IT AT TOO HIGH A TEMPERATURE! Lower baking temps to
265 degrees and bake for ½ hour.
