design rubber stamp in a size similar to the box (sample made
with image from Paper Parachute)
Directions:
1. Paint the box on all sides with craft glue and let dry.
2. Condition and roll the green clay to a medium setting on the
pasta machine (approx. 1/16" inch.) Cover the box with
clay on all sides and blend all seams.
 3.
Texture the box all over with the coarse texture sheet and cut
through the clay at the rim line.

4.
Rub Pearl-ex powder gently onto the textured surface. Bake for
approximately 20 minutes.
 5. Roll 1/4 block of metallic gold into a sheet 1/16" thick.
Using the rubber stamp, make two impressions into the gold
clay. Trim the edges neatly with a craft knife.
 6.
Lay gold leaf over the stamped clay and gently smooth it into the
pattern grooves with a soft brush.
 7.
Apply glue to the ends of the ribbon and place the ends around
the box with a long loop extending. Apply
a thin
coating of Liquid
Sculpey to the back of the leafed medallion designs
and apply them to the top and bottom of the box, covering
the ribbon
ends. Bake again for 15 minutes.
 8.
Make several donut-shaped pools of Liquid Sculpey on the glass
palette. Add a drop or two of Pinata
Ink into
the center
of the
pool and stir.

Let the palette
set for 20-30 minutes. This allows
the alcohol to evaporate from the mixture, or it
may cause bubbles in the next step. Create a basic color
palette
and the tinted
Liquid Sculpey can also be mixed just like paint
to create a wider range
of colors and shades. For example, mix a tiny bit
of green into red to make a burgundy red.
9.
Using a pointed palette tool, apply the color to the cells of the
pattern.
 10.
Continue filling the pattern cells as desired. A rubber tipped
Color Shaper works well to wipe
any color
away from
the raised
areas which should remain gold.
 11. A heat gun may be used to set each color
before proceeding to the next if desired.

Bake a final
time for 20 minutes. 12. Apply several coats of a water-based varnish
to the medallion design.
13. Optional: paint the interior of the box
with metallic gold acrylic paint.
