Purple Saddled Camel

Sculpey III in the following colors:
- Tan 301, Yellow 072, Purple 513, Pearl 1101, Chocolate 053
- Black E-Beads
- Black Seed Beads
- Gold Seed Beads
- Red Red Roacille Beads
- Small gold chain
- Fine iridescent glitter
- Bridle:
- Flatten
some Chocolate clay to 1/16” thick. Cut 3 strips of clay 1/8” wide.
Apply to muzzle and forehead of camel per picture.
- Cut
a 2.5” piece of gold chain. Use round toothpick to press the ends
into the sides of the face.
- Place
gold seed beads into bridle.
- Blanket:
- Flatten
purple clay to 1/16” thick.
- Cut
a rectangle 2.25” x 7/8”. Center on top of camel’s
back. Fold ends down the sides. Press entire surface to adhere.
- Breast
Strap:
- Mix
equal parts of yellow and tan clay. Flatten to 1/16” thick. Cut
two ¼” strips of clay 1.5” long. Trim one end of each to
make straight across.
- Overlap
ends so they are perpendicular. Center corner between front
legs, wrapping
ends up to
shoulders. Trim
where they
meet blanket.
- Jewel:
- Roll
a 1/8” ball of pearl clay in fine glitter. Shape into diamond
shape. Cut in half. Press the cut side onto front of breast strap.
o Use round toothpick to press
gold and red rocaille beads into
front
of breast strap.
- Stripes:
- Flatten
pearl and purple clay into 1/8” thick sheets. Cut 1/8” strips
of each color. Flatten another sheet of purple clay and lay strips of the purple
and pearl alternating. Flatten gradually to 1/16” thick.
- Cut
a 1/8” strip. Press onto side edges of blanket.
- Tail:
- Toll
a 1/8” log of tan clay. Cut a 1” strip and add to the back
of camel. Roll a ¼” all of tan into a tiny teardrop shape and
add to the end of the tail.
Green Saddled
Camel

Sculpey III in the following colors:
- Tan 301, Green 022, Gold 1086, Maroon 382, Chocolate 053
- Gold Seed Beads
- Black E-Beads
- Flat Toothpicks
- 1/8” Glass Rhinestone
- Bridle:
Make bridle as for purple blanketed camel.
- Blanket:
- Flatten
some green clay to 1/16” thick.
- Cut
a rectangle of the green clay 2.25” x 7/8”. Center on top
of camel’s back. Fold ends down the sides, press entire surface to stick
all areas securely.
- Breast
strap:
- Create
breast strap out of gold clay and proceed as for purple
blanketed camel. Make jewel as for other camel
as well.
- Trim:
- Flatten
some gold and maroon clay into sheets 1/16” thick.
- Place
one sheet on top of the other. Cut stack in half and place
again on top of the other
- Run
through pasta machine on thickest setting.
- Cut
in half again and place one sheet o top of the other. Press
firmly together.
- Cut
a strip 1/16” thick. Trim to 7/8” long. Press onto sides
edges of the blanket.
- Tail:
- Make
tail as for previous camel.
Navy
Saddled Camel with Saddle Bags

Sculpey III in the following colors:
- Tan 301, Navy 363, Yellow 072, Chocolate 053
- Black E-Beads
- Gold Seed beads
- Flat toothpicks
- Gold Acrylic Paint
- Bridle:
Make bridle as for first camel.
- Blanket:
- Flatten some navy clay to 1/16” thick. Cut a rectangle 2.25” x
7/8”. Center on top of camel’s back. Fold ends
down the sides and press to stick securely.
- Use round toothpick to add details with gold paint to
the edges of the blanket.
- Saddle
Bags:
- Mix equal parts of yellow and tan clay. Flatten mixture
to 1/16” thick.
- Cut two 1/8” strips. Lay across the blanket ¼” apart.
- Press ½ of a flat toothpick into each side of the blanket leaving ½ exposed.
- Roll
two ¾” balls
of yellow mixture. Use fingers to shape two rounded
rectangles ¾” wide x 5/8” tall and
3/8” thick.
- Use the dull edge of a knife to add the line around each
of the saddle bags.
- Use the end of a round toothpick to add the details to
the sides of the bags.
- Cut two 1/8” x 3/8” strips of the yellow mixture. Add to
the sides of the bags. Use a round toothpick to add gold seed beads to
the bag
straps.
- Tail:
- Make tail as for previous camels.
Donkey

Sculpey III in the following colors:
- White 001, Black 042, Tan 301, Chocolate 053
- Black E-Beads
- Flat toothpicks
- Blanket:
- Flatten some tan and chocolate clay into sheets 1/8” thick. Cut a ½” strip
of tan clay and two ¼” strips of chocolate
clay.
Flatten another sheet of tan clay to 1/8” thick. Lay the strips of clay
with the tan in between two strips of chocolate on top of the tan sheet. Flatten
gradually to 1/16” with pasta machine. Cut a rectangle 1” x ¾” and
lay on Donkey’s back.
- Rope:
- Mix equal parts of tan and chocolate clay. Roll a log
1/16” thick.
Fold in half and twist.
- Attach one end to the bridle, under the chin.
- Wrap the rest of the rope around the neck and down
the front, trimming off excess.
- Cut off as needed to make sure rope adheres to body.
- Tail:
- Roll a 1/8” log of grey clay.
- Cut a ½” long piece. Add to back of donkey, and press gently
to the donkey between the hip bones.
- Roll a ¼” ball of black clay. Comb lines into it with round
toothpick, and press to the bottom of the tail.
- Add this to the end of the tail with the pointed end
downward.
Stable and Doves

Sculpey III in the following colors:
- Chocolate 053, Black 042, Tan 301, Gold 1086, White 001, Yellow 072, Brown
Granitex
- 20 gauge black wire
- Flat and round toothpicks
- Popsicle or craft sticks
- Cyanocrylate Glue Gel
- Black fine tip permanent marker (Sharpie)
- Fine iridescent glitter
- Tan acrylic paint
- Roof:
- Flatten large sheets of chocolate clay to 1/8” thick with pasta machine
or brayer. Cut four sheets 1.5” x 5”.
- Break six craft sticks to approximately 4 inches.
- Lay three of the craft stick pieces side by side on
two of the sheets of chocolate clay.
- Place the other sheet of chocolate clay on top of the
sticks. Press edges and tops firmly together.
- Use Sculpey Super Slicer to trim the edges to 1.25” x 4.50”.
- Use end of round toothpick to add wood texture into
tops and sides.
- Break flat toothpicks into several pieces.Press the
ends into the edge of the roof pieces,
leaving ½ exposed.
- Press bottom edges of other roof piece onto exposed
toothpicks.
- Roll a ½” log of chocolate clay. Square it off. Trim to ¼” x ¼” x ¼”.
- Press gently onto the underside of the roof where the
two pieces meet.
- On top of roof, near the back, make a small hole with
the end
of the round
toothpick.
The wire for the star
will be
inserted here later.
Lay roof on its
side on index cards. Bake roof pieces per instructions
at beginning of project.
- Beam:
- Flatten some chocolate clay to ¼” thick. Lay two flat toothpicks
end to end across the sheet, letting the ends overlap by ½”.
- Wrap clay around toothpicks and roll to a 3/8” log. If the toothpicks
are not sticking out of the ends, insert another piece into the ends, leaving ½ exposed.
- Bake beam per instruction at beginning of project.
- Pillars:
- Roll two 3/4” logs of Brown Granitex clay. Flatten ends so that they
are stable.
- Roll small various “rock” sized balls of clay from leftover grey,
tan, brown clay. Cut each rock in half and cover the pillars leaving enough
space so that the Granitex shows through.
- Use the baked beam to connect
the covered pills,
2.5” from the bottom.
- Using the baked roof as a guide,
cut the pillars
off
at an angle
so that the
roof
can rest on
the top.
- Remove roof, bake roof pieces,
pillars,
and let
cool per instructions
at beginning
of project.
- Assembly
of Stable:
- Use
a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue gel to add roof to
pillars. Let set. If pillars
wobble, wet sand them with 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper to flatten
any high spots.
- Doves:
- Roll
a 3/8” ball of white clay into a pear shape, ½” long.
- For tail, roll a 1/8” ball of pearl clay into a teardrop shape and
flatten slightly.
- Press pointed
end oto large
end of the
pear shape.
- Use round
toothpick to smooth
clay where
tail and body
meet.
o
For wings,
roll two 1/8” balls of white into teardrop shape and flatten.
- Add wings
to the sides
of the body
with the pointed
ends towards
the tail.
- For beak,
roll a 1/16” ball of black clay into a teardrop shape, and
press onto the front of the face.
- Make a second
dove.
- Bake doves
per project
instructions.
After cool,
mark eyes
with Sharpie
permanent
marker.
- Star:
- Flatten some pearl clay to 1/8” thick.
- Cut a star shape with a small cookie cutter, or use
a paper pattern and an
X-Acto knife.
- Sprinkle
star lightly
with fine
glitter
- Make a small
hole with
round toothpick
in the star.
- Bake star
according to
project instructions.
- After star
is cool, it may
be stuck
to roof through
the hole
in each with
flexible wire.
